Coach Stores Decoded: Landmark Flagships, Boutiques and What to Expect
Coach closed its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 directly operated stores, as reported in Tapestry’s annual report. That total divides into 336 stores in North America and 637 outside North America. A figure of about 1,299 stores is sometimes cited as well, but that number spans all of Tapestry’s brands rather than Coach on its own. Tapestry has reportedly said it plans around 50 net new Coach stores in fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them outside North America. The network takes in flagship Coach House locations, regular full-price boutiques, concessions within department stores and Coach Outlet stores. Anyone looking for a coach store could as a result land on a multi-level flagship or a compact unit in an outlet village. Taking it city by city, this guide looks at the best-recorded locations and marks any case where a store’s current status has yet to be confirmed.

New York: The Coach House on Fifth Avenue
Established in New York in 1941, Coach keeps its most recognisable flagship in the city of its birth. The Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue was unveiled in the fall of 2016 to coincide with the brand’s 75th anniversary. Created with coach-outlet William Sofield’s Studio Sofield, the space was reported to cover about 20,000 square feet over three floors. That address is not a permanent home, however, because Coach has reportedly leased about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House. The planned move is pencilled in for 2027, and David Yurman is reported to have signed a lease for the 685 Fifth Avenue space, with an opening expected in early 2029. Consult Coach’s store locator before any special trip, because it has not been confirmed whether the current store is still trading on a given day. The locator also shows a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, near Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.
London: The Coach House on Regent Street
Opened in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House sits at 200–206 Regent Street. Studio Sofield also designed the London store, giving it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. Coverage at the time described a Craftsmanship Bar for monogramming and personalisation. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly require around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks in exotic skins, with a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag reported as well. One retail-district listing carries a much later page date, which has led some writers to state the wrong opening year. On its August 2026 earnings call, Tapestry said that the UK, plus some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material penetration, a published transcript shows. Before you go, confirm which services are currently offered if you are planning a personalisation appointment.
Tokyo and Ginza
Tokyo’s Ginza district holds Coach’s flagship in Japan. The first Japanese flagship opened its doors there in 2002, and the store was renewed in 2015. Reports of the relaunch say that the studio CURIOSITY redesigned the store, which reopened on 19 December 2025. For services, Japan is also significant: select Japanese stores reportedly participate in the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange. Canvas pieces and outlet items are reportedly not accepted, but the scheme accepts gently worn all-leather retail bags. Which Japanese stores participate was not confirmed, so ask the store before bringing a bag along. Hours and services are worth checking shortly before a visit, as with every flagship in this guide.
Greater China: A Dated Shanghai Record, Plus Hong Kong and Chongqing
Set against New York or London, Coach’s large stores in Greater China are documented less thoroughly. A now-dated record shows that a flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. Do not assume the Shanghai store is open today, since its current status could not be verified. Coach has also been reported to operate a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. Similarly, no opening date was confirmed for those two stores. International stores account for 637 of Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, but the annual report figure is not a city-by-city breakdown. Before travelling, rely on Coach’s local store locator rather than older press coverage.
Boutiques and Concessions in Britain
Coach’s UK store locator additionally shows full-price stores outside Regent Street, with branches at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. Additional London locations take in St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf. Away from London, the documented full-price store sits at the Bullring in Birmingham. In-store concessions inside Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted, also carry Coach. Stores in Manchester, Edinburgh and other cities could not be confirmed, so confirm before assuming a local branch exists. For anyone searching coach uk locations, this list covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing. For hours and services, the safest place is each listed store’s own page on Coach’s UK website.
Coach Outlet Locations
Instead of being independent discounters, Coach Outlet stores form part of Coach’s own network, and the store locator marks them as outlets. They usually sit in outlet centres, and Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common in the United States. Confirmed Coach Outlet stores in Britain trade at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. A store at York Designer Outlet has been reported but not confirmed, so check before heading there. Part of the outlet stock is made for the outlet channel, yet the only share figure available, around 85%, dates from 2014, so the current mix is unknown. Besides earlier-season styles, assortments can also include some full-price collection product under the reported “One Coach” strategy. Anyone planning a coach outlet trip should review current offers first, because promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified.
Inside a Coach Store: What to Expect
The typical full-price coach store centres on the current handbag range, with space too for small leather goods, clothing and shoes. In 2026, the recognisable bag families include the Tabby (launched in 2019), the Brooklyn (introduced in August 2024) and the Empire Carryall (brought out in February 2025). These figures are market observations, not an official price list: observed US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450. The (Re)Loved trade-in is offered in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores, so it is available in selected stores. Coach Insider, the free-to-join loyalty programme, reportedly covers both Coach and Coach Outlet, so one membership works across both formats. A receipt from a Coach store makes handy evidence of where a coach bag came from, especially as Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise. Creative direction is in the hands of Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013 and who is still Creative Director in 2026.
Planning a Visit
A little preparation saves wasted journeys, especially while the New York flagship gets ready for its planned move. Start with Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, since it sets apart full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations. If you plan a trade-in, make sure that the specific store participates and that your bag is all leather rather than canvas. For personalisation or made-to-order services, enquire in advance whether the service is currently offered. Do not plan around a VAT refund if you are visiting Britain, as tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended on 1 January 2021. If questions come up later, a receipt records where a bag was bought, so keep every one. Review current promotions before a long journey to an outlet centre, because offers change frequently.
- On the day you set out, open the store locator.
- Verify trade-in participation and eligibility.
- Arrange personalisation services ahead of time.
- Hold on to receipts for every purchase.
